Hey guys,
I apologize in advance if this isn't an appropriate forum to post this. I found this guy in my neighborhood near Bluebonnet and Highland wandering in the rain with his collar attached to a broken cord yesterday. I've posted to NextDoor, Lost Pets of BR, and let the CAA and other organizations have details about this guy. But sadly my father and I cannot keep him. If any of you or anyone you know are interested in fostering or adopting a puppy, this guy is for you. If you know someone who's interested in this guy, he's free to a good home. I would just rather not put him in a shelter.

Pictures of him:

The Vet estimated he was around 6-7 months old. He has one of the mildest manners I've ever seen in a dog, and he definitely thinks he's a lap dog. He loves laying on couches and is overall just a sweet puppy.

He's still young and can be trained to be a well behaved dog. Keep it!

Why can't you keep him?

Looks like a keeper to me. He's already indebted to you. He'll be your best friend for life now.

My father leaves for work at 6 and comes back at 8. My schedule is better, but we wouldn't be doing this guy much good barely getting to take care of him. I'm at his house, so it's his rules understandably (we're the only two at home).

He's definitely a keeper. We just can't keep him.

I doubt it has even 50% pit bull in it. It sort of looks like one of my dogs. I have two dogs now, I am not a fan of pit bulls, but if I really wanted to add a 3rd dog I would seriously consider... But I can't..

Take him to CAA by the airport if you can't find the owner. They'll take care of him, try to find the owner, and put him up for adoption if no luck.

He looks like he made himself feel at home just laying on the couch. Sucks you can't keep him.

Post to Lost Pets of Baton Rouge on Facebook as well as any neighborhood Facebook pages

Run it by any vet & have them scan for a microchip

Contact Companion Animal Aaliance
I'm pretty sure you will have to take the dog to them, they are somewhere by the airport
They will rehome if owner can't be located

Good luck

Is he changing the tv channels yet? Good luck getting him off that leather couch.

It's the worst part about this all. Whenever I get a dog in the future when I'm ready, I'm definitely adopting a shelter dog after this experience.
